About me
I have been an educator for 30+ years serving students and schools in various capacities. I have taught grades 3-5 and 6-8 plus English/LA to students in a Saturday program in grades 9-12. I've been an instructional coach, a Title I specialist and then Director for a very large urban district in Indiana, as well. I have licenses in English/LA, social studies, science, and I am a reading specialist. I am currently working on a Masters of Language Education and am almost finished.
I have been in Pike since July 1, 2011 and have thoroughly enjoyed and learned from my ever evolving role at the district level supporting schools and administrators. I am especially excited that I get to concentrate my work on the English learners program in Pike. With over 3,040 of Pike students being English Learners, we are close to 30% of enrollment being English learners. There is a lot ofwork to day and preparing educators to meet ELL students unique needs is a passion of mine.
