Dr. Lisa Steele is an accomplished educator with 28 years of experience, currently serving as the principal at Fishback Creek Public Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana. Holding a Doctorate in Education, she is a recognized expert in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RtI), frameworks she has effectively implemented to enhance student outcomes.
A passionate leader, Dr. Steele is dedicated to shaping the lives of future leaders. Her leadership is informed by a deep understanding of local and global issues, ensuring that her decisions are both relevant and impactful. She has successfully overseen numerous grants, programs, school-community partnerships, and public service initiatives, demonstrating her commitment to educational excellence and community engagement.
Dr. Steele's collaborative approach fosters innovation and fresh perspectives in education. Her efforts have been recognized through various educational awards, including being named a state finalist for Indiana Teacher of the Year.
A proud native of Gary, Indiana, she has made Indianapolis her home for over three decades. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Steele is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is married with three children and three grandchildren, and enjoys her time as an empty nester.
